Our Third House together

With our son coming up to secondary school age Kath decided that she didn't want to stay in Thurrock, where she thought that none of the secondary schools met her standards. She decided that we should move to Havering, where the secondary schools were better,  so that our children should have the best possible chance in life.

At about this time my sister and her family, who had earlier exchanged houses with my parents decided that she wanted to move to a bungalow with a larger garden. They did us a good turn and we ended up buying back the house where I was born. Albeit substantially extended by my sister. The house was good for us and we stayed there until we retired and moved to Burnham-on-Crouch. Kath continued to work at Purfleet for a few years, travelling every day and taking my daughter to her school with her. Once Amy got up to secondary school age, Kath started to look for a Headship in Havering and eventually secured a job at Scargill Infants School.
